Loan Counseling

Loan Entrance Counseling is a one time requirement for all first time borrowers at Florida State University. The Loan Entrance Counseling can be completed online in 10 to 15 minutes, from the comfort of your home. There are separate counseling sessions for Federal Stafford and/or Federal Perkins Loans and for Graduate PLUS loans. If you are an undergraduate student or if you are a graduate student and will only borrow through the Stafford program (Subsidized or Unsubsidized), or the Federal Perkins loan programyou only need to do the Stafford/Perkins loan counseling.

If you are a Graduate Student and will borrow through the Graduate PLUS loan program, you will need to do both the Stafford/Perkins and the Graduate PLUS loan counseling (separate sessions).

Print or save your confirmation page for any session you complete. FSU should receive confirmation automatically of your completion, but you may be asked to show verification at a later date.
